Gold Detectors

Gold Detectors are electronic instruments that detects the presence of metal nearby.Gold Detectors are advanced metal detecting tools specifically designed to locate natural gold nuggets, buried gold objects, and deep gold veins hidden beneath the earth’s surface.

They often consist of a handheld unit with a sensor probe which can be swept over the ground or other objects. If the sensor comes near a piece of metal this is indicated by a changing tone in earphones, or a needle moving on an indicator. Usually the device gives some indication of distance; the closer the metal is, the higher the tone in the earphone or the higher the needle goes.

What is a Gold Detector?

Gold Detector is the most popular tool for treasure hunters and amateur prospectors. Gold detectors are metal detectors specially designed to find gold. Basically, these gold detectors use vary from precise military purpose or by local residents as a hobby.

Metal Detectors create an electromagnetic field, which penetrates the ground. Metal objects can cause a change to this field because they are conductive. The detector senses this change and sends a signal back to the control box, alerting the operator.

These metal detectors take this process a step further by measuring inductance and conductivity. Basically, inductance refers to the amount of eddy currents produced in the target. Conductivity refers to how easily those currents flow.

By measuring the size of the eddy currents and how fast they are traveling, gold detectors can calculate the “time constant” of a target.

Metal detectors can be calibrated to specifically search for targets that fall within that “middle” range. Unfortunately, it’s not a foolproof method. The size, shape, and distance of a target (along with other environmental variables) affect the accuracy of the detector’s time constant calculation.

To compensate, gold detectors can be re-calibrated on-the-fly to search for a broader or narrower range of time constants.
